Abstract

The genesis of stress research was in 1914 when Walter Cannon a noted physiologist and early pioneer of stress for the first time described the body's reactions to stress. He identified stress reaction as fight or flight, an involuntary response that occurs in an emergency in which an individual must either confront or escape from a dangerous situation.
