Abstract

Individuals' involvement in financial markets has grown, and the introduction of new financial products and services has either encouraged or discouraged market participation. However, some of these products are complex and difficult to understand, particularly for inexperienced investors. Simultaneously, market liberalisation and structural reforms in social security and pensions transfer power to governments and individuals.
