Abstract

The second novel An Outcast of the Islands of Conrad explores the social, cultural implications of East and West taking recourse to the colonial stereotypes fueled by the genre of the colonial fiction. He projects East as something exuberant and exotic, placid and brooding and yet corrupts one.
